Overview
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to play a key role in ensuring a smooth, organized, and welcoming start to each day at Tiny Treasures. This position supports front office operations, prepares the center for daily activities, and assists both families and staff during the busy morning hours.
This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, organized, and enjoys a balance of administrative tasks, customer interaction, and hands-on support within a childcare environment.
Duties
- Front Office & Communication
- Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner and transfer calls as needed
Morning Center Setup
- Open classrooms by turning on lights and ensuring rooms are ready for the day
- Collect, refill, and redistribute cleaning and sanitation supplies:
- Bleach/water bottles
- Soap/water bottles
- Ensure classrooms and shared spaces are prepared for daily operations
Classroom & Staff Support
- Assist in classrooms as needed during peak morning times
- Open or support a classroom when required
- Provide staff coverage for bathroom breaks after 9:00 AM
- Act as an extra set of hands to support a smooth morning flow
Food Preparation (Morning)
- Prepare and distribute morning snack (Note: Lunch distribution may be added if schedule is extended)
Environment & Administrative Support
- Maintain and decorate the lobby with seasonal themes
- Create birthday boards and welcome signage for new families
- Prepare materials for seasonal crafts and projects (cutting, organizing, assembling)
- Light laundry duties - including towels, sheets, blankets, classroom supplies, etc.
- Support administrative team with light project preparation as needed
- Greet families and children during morning arrival
- Open the door for families and visitors without key card access
- Provide a welcoming and positive first impression for all guests
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom experience is highly preferred
- Previous administrative experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
