Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers and caregivers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Engage children with educational games, storytelling, arts and crafts, and other interactive activities that stimulate growth.
- Follow mandated reporting laws by observing children closely for signs of distress or injury and reporting concerns promptly.
- Provide basic first aid and pediatric first aid when necessary to address minor injuries or health issues.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities.
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Certification in first aid and pediatric first aid is required; additional training in special education or behavior management is a plus.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior guidance strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with families.
