Duties
- Providing 1:1 direct care to child with autism and other developmental disabilities across various settings (e.g., home, school, community) as needed.
- Implement therapeutic interventions focused on behavioral health and management, and developmental support.
- Collect data to monitor progress and inform care strategies.
- Utilize prevention and minimization strategies to manage challenging behaviors safely and effectively.
- Document all interactions accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special educators, and medical professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health or educational settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodiverse conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Strong skills in behavior intervention strategies, client communication, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention methods.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including youth and individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma required
- Experience working with children
- Ability to engage in active work (standing, bending, lifting, movement throughout sessions)
- Reliable transportation
- Successful completion of crisis intervention training required
