What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Teacher for Creative Movement Class (Ages 3-6) position at Tiny Dance Life?
Local nonprofit Tiny Dance Life is looking for a Creative Movement Instructor for their After School Enrichment Program for children ages 3-6 years old. This class will be held on Fridays from 2:30pm-3:15pm beginning on January 9th and will run through March 20th (Winter Term) with the potential to continue into the Spring Term and teach until May 15th at a school in Beaverton, Oregon. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young children (ages 3-6). They are committed to creating an engaging and safe classroom environment that nurtures and supports creativity and self expression.
Duties
- Plan and deliver creative and age-appropriate curriculum for preschool -aged children
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure all learners succeed
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate teaching methods and techniques
- Prior dance experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills, especially with young children and their parents
- Ability to pass a background check
