Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service through clear communication and friendly interaction
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Assist customers with product inquiries, including conducting product demos when applicable
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is inviting and well-presented
- Upsell products and promote ongoing sales or special offers to maximize store revenue
- Practice effective phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support the team with basic retail math for transactions, inventory counts, and sales reporting
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings (additional language skills are a plus)
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems or familiarity with cashiering technology is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment
