Tinkertown Provisions is the premier hot sauce concern in the Western Catskills. We are a woman-owned, queer, taste-forward, accessible condiment provider with retail partners throughout the country. We use local organic produce and other ingredients to create small batch, independent hot sauce that also happens to be winning prestigious awards.

We are seeking an Assistant Hot Saucier / Kitchen Prep specialist, where your enthusiasm for food and creativity will help craft delicious, high-quality hot sauces that excite the palate! In this energetic role, you'll be instrumental in preparing ingredients, assisting with food assembly, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Duties

• Prepare fresh ingredients for hot sauce production, including chopping, slicing, and measuring
• Assist in the assembly and bottling of hot sauces according to quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
• Support food handling processes during production, ensuring proper storage and labeling
• Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and ingredients efficiently
• Follow recipes and menu plans to exacting details to ensure consistency in product quality
• Support the team during special events as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service environments
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
• Proven skills in knife handling, meal preparation, and kitchen sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving others

Being on time is important. Professionalism is important. Knowing how to use a knife without stabbing yourself is important. Ability to follow directions precisely is important. This is a very cool job but we do not hire on the basis of coolness. Consistency, dependability, ability to get along with diverse co-workers, and basic interest in food, are mandatory. Liking hot sauce is a plus. We are a growing company and seek to bring on employees long-term.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
