About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Tinker Qualified Recycling Program.
Physical Effort: Work requires extensive walking, bending, stooping and pushing/pulling heavy materials along conveyor lines.
Lifting up to 75 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds.
Working Conditions: Subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions and scrapes in moving or handling material. Exposed to fumes, grease,
noise and dust.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have sufficient experience or education/training which provided sufficient skill in and knowledge of material identification ability, routine record keeping procedures and working with little supervision.
Must be physically able to lift and carry 45 pounds or more, walking, standing 4 hours, kneeling and bending.
Must be able to work inside and outside in constant noise, dust, slippery or uneven walking surfaces, working around machinery with moving parts.
Must be able to lead the work of others.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing technical guidance to Material Examiners & Identifiers. Passes on instructions from Supervisor, sets workpace and sees that assignments are carried out properly. Responsible for providing job training for new personnel.
Identifies, sorts and judges the obvious physical condition of a wide variety of materials. Compares the material identification plate or
marking and obvious physical characteristics to documentation accompanying material. Check work control documents for
completeness.
Ensures that all documentation accompanying material is complete and accurate. Corrects or completes documentation and prepares
discrepancy reports as needed.
Routes material for technical review, storage, repairs or disposal.
Determines identification and condition of material by visual observation, reference to tool list and supply catalog.
Checks items for obvious signs of condition such as dents, broken and missing parts and corrosion for compliance with technical order
requirements pertaining to packaging and corrosion control specifications and for inspection date.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
