Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Vision & Leadership- Develop & Execute a Vision: In collaboration with school leadership, design and implement a strategic vision for a nationally-recognized, Christ-centered STEM program.
- Curriculum Innovation: Create and launch new, engaging AI-integrated STEM courses and pathways that challenge students and prepare them for future careers.
- Program Growth: Lead the expansion of the STEM program, with a long-term goal of creating a cohesive and integrated curriculum for grades 6-12.
- Stay Current: Actively research and integrate emerging technologies and trends, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainable design, ensuring the program remains relevant and forward-thinking.
- Communication: Coordinate with the Director of Technology, Directors of Curriculum, and Director of Student Life to ensure alignment of school-wide goals and resources.
- Lead Innovation & Design Lab (IDL) Courses: Instruct students in our state-of-the-art lab, teaching a unique curriculum that blends traditional woodworking skills with modern technology like AI, 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC routers.
- Foster a Design Thinking Mindset: Guide students through the iterative design thinking process, empowering them to identify problems, brainstorm creative solutions, and prototype their ideas.
- Mentor Student-Led Projects: Facilitate advanced, self-directed projects for upper-level students, allowing them to pursue their individual interests and passions within the AI and STEM fields.
- Disciple Students: Model a vibrant Christian faith and integrate a Biblical worldview into all aspects of teaching and mentorship, encouraging students to see their technical skills as a means to serve God and their community.
- Staff Training: Provide training and coaching around both staff and students' use of AI as a learning tool
- Co-Curricular and Extracurricular Support: Supervise and support students’ participation in Career Technical Student Organizations. This could include continuing existing activities, like VEX Robotics, or expanding offerings through an organization like Technical Student Association (TSA).
- A Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ: A strong, demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and an alignment with the mission and values of Timothy Christian School.
- Passion for AI and STEM: A genuine excitement for science, technology, engineering, and math, with a desire to inspire that same passion in students.
- Technical Aptitude: Experience or a strong willingness to learn and master tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and various design software. Knowledge of AI and robotics is a significant plus.
- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in education, engineering, industrial arts, technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Teaching Experience: Prior secondary-level teaching experience is strongly preferred, particularly in project-based or hands-on learning environments.
- Visionary & Entrepreneurial Spirit: The ability to think creatively, build new things, and lead a program with initiative and drive.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
