What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Video Production position at Times10?
Head of Video - Times10 (Burbank, CA)
Full-Time | Senior Level (7-10 Years Experience)
About the Role
We’re seeking a high-caliber, hands-on Head of Video to lead all video production across campaigns, social content, branded storytelling, and high-growth digital initiatives. This role is for a top-tier videographer/editor, a creative operator who can concept, shoot, direct, edit, and deliver world-class video at speed.
This is not a “manage-only” role. You must be an exceptional shooter and editor, fluent in visual storytelling, pacing, rhythm, sound design, and motion language. You should be just as comfortable behind the camera and deep in the timeline as you are leading productions and setting creative direction.
You will own projects end-to-end, from ideation and production planning to hands-on editing and final export, inside a fast-moving agency environment.
This is a senior, boots-on-the-ground role based out of Burbank, CA.
Responsibilities
- Lead all video production for campaigns, brand storytelling, social-first content, commercial assets, and creative development.
- Personally shoot and edit high-priority content, setting the standard for quality, speed, and storytelling.
- Oversee concepting, storyboarding, shot lists, and production planning for shoots of all scales.
- Edit at an elite level, fast, precise, emotionally intelligent, with a deep command of pacing, transitions, and narrative structure.
- Build and manage video pipelines from pre-production through delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, Social, and Design teams to align visuals with campaign goals.
- Execute and supervise motion graphics work using Adobe After Effects, ensuring clean, modern, polished motion language.
- Direct on-set teams when needed (talent, camera ops, DP, audio, art direction, etc.).
- Maintain exceptionally high creative standards while operating under tight timelines.
- Provide technical oversight for cameras, lighting, audio, and post-production workflow.
- Manage video asset organization, versioning, and delivery across all platforms.
- Stay up to date on editing trends, visual styles, and platform-native video formats.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of professional experience as a videographer and editor within agency, brand, or studio environments.
- Expert-level editing skills (Premiere Pro / DaVinci / Final Cut; Premiere preferred).
- Strong hands-on shooting experience with a proven ability to capture cinematic, performance-driven footage.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects (motion graphics, kinetic typography, light VFX).
- Proven ability to build shot lists, storyboards, and production plans.
- Demonstrated experience owning campaign-level projects from concept through final delivery.
- Highly nimble, comfortable working fast, and able to pivot quickly as creative evolves.
- Deep understanding of social-forward, performance-driven video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube, broadcast).
- Strong creative intuition paired with operational discipline and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Must be local to Burbank, CA or willing to work on-site daily.
- Portfolio/reel that clearly showcases elite editing, cinematography, storytelling range, and motion capabilities.
