Responsibilities
- Safely operate shuttle buses, vans, or other commercial vehicles to transport clients to appointments, community events, or other destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Follow designated routes and schedules precisely, adjusting as needed for traffic or unforeseen delays.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate pickups and drop-offs efficiently.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading mobility aids or luggage.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition reports to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles such as limousine or school bus driving.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on the vehicle.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and vehicle maintenance basics.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment.
- Experience with paratransit services or specialized transportation is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
