Server Assistant (Part-Time)

POSITION PURPOSE:  As a Server Assistant, you will ensure that our incredible dishes meet guest expectations and are delivered to the right table in a timely manner. In this role, you will get to experience the great joy you bring our guests when presenting them with the culinary works of art in our upbeat cafe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.                  Set up all garnishes for dishes and set-up trays.

2.                  Stock all needed china.

3.                  Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.

4.                  Promptly and efficiently reset trays.

5.                  Maintain stock of china, silver, and linens.

6.                  Responsible for setting up/breaking down station at the beginning and end of shift.

7.                  Assist with special guest requests to ensure total guest satisfaction.

8.                  Maintains communication between servers and kitchen associates.

9.                  Maintain ticket times and ensure promptness with quote time.

10.              Maintain standard of plate presentation.

11.              Perform other duties as assigned.

12.      Must be knowledgeable in preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.

13.      Basic mathematical skills necessary to ensure proper delivery amounts, understand portion sizes, and assist with inventory.

14.      Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs, and extend arms overhead to stock items.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

*Must have night availibility*

1.         Knowledge of appropriate tray settings and service ware.    

2.         Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shift.

3.                  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

4.                  Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic guest requests.  Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.

5.                  Ability to grasp, lift, carry, and/or transport up to 50 lbs.

6.                  No prior experience required. 

7.                  Ability to learn all menu items and garnishes.

8.                  Ability to multi-task.

9.                  Ability to self-motivate during slow periods.

10.              Ability to maintain composure during peak hours.
