Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Overnight Cashier to join our team at Navco Shell. Duties

• Operate the cash register system (POS) accurately for all retail sales transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers with product information and store services.
• Conduct product demos when applicable to promote store offerings and enhance customer engagement.
• Maintain knowledge of store products, including grocery items and general merchandise, to assist customers effectively.
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise during overnight hours to ensure the store remains tidy and well-presented.
• Assist with merchandising efforts, including product placement and inventory replenishment.
• Support supervising staff by overseeing daily operations when necessary and ensuring adherence to store policies.
• Uphold phone etiquette standards when interacting with customers or vendors via phone calls.
• Engage in upselling techniques to increase sales while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery setting.
• Supervising experience is preferred to oversee daily store functions during overnight shifts.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual abilities are advantageous.
• Knowledge of retail sales processes, including upselling and product demos.
• Familiarity with stocking procedures, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette approach.
• Experience in grocery store operations or retail sales transactions is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle cash drawers responsibly while maintaining accuracy in cash handling procedures.
• Basic understanding of retail store product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
