Responsibilities
- Provide professional hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, hair extensions, and hair threading to meet client preferences.
- Perform nail care treatments such as manicures, pedicures, gel nails, and nail art with attention to sanitation standards.
- Deliver expert skincare services like makeup application and eyelash extensions that enhance natural beauty.
- Maintain thorough client communication to understand their needs and recommend suitable treatments or retail products.
- Utilize salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records management, and retail sales tracking.
- Uphold strict sanitation and safety protocols to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for clients and staff.
- Assist with front desk duties including appointment bookings, client check-ins, and store management tasks to ensure smooth salon operations.
- Stay updated on current beauty trends, color theory techniques, and new product offerings to provide innovative services.
- Upsell retail products such as hair care items or cosmetics to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue.
- Mentor junior staff members by sharing expertise in barbering techniques like using a straight razor or advanced styling methods.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license or barbering certification; experience working in the beauty industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with salon software systems such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for scheduling and sales management.
- Strong knowledge of hair care practices including coloring, styling, extensions, and hair treatments.
- Skilled in nail care procedures along with proper sanitation practices for manicures and pedicures.
- Experience performing eyelash extensions and makeup applications is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations and team collaboration.
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for upselling products effectively.
- Knowledge of store management principles to contribute to overall salon success.
