Role Description The Journeyman Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based at Timber Products Co. in Grants Pass, OR. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and controls in a manufacturing environment, including motors, conveyors, lighting, and production machinery. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently in accordance with codes and company standards. The Journeyman Electrician will interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints, and work closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous operations. The role also includes documenting work performed, identifying opportunities for system improvements, and participating in safety programs and training.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electricity principles and safe electrical practices, including working with industrial power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in electrical work such as installation, wiring, conduit, panel work, and equipment hook-ups in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of electrical components, motors, control systems, and production equipment.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective, timely solutions.
- Familiarity with basic electrical engineering concepts related to controls, automation, and system optimization is beneficial.
- Current Journeyman Electrician license for the state of Oregon (or ability to obtain, as required by regulations).
