Our dealership is growing, and we're looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. This position plays a key role in ensuring vendor invoices are processed accurately, payments are made on time, and financial records remain organized and compliant.

Responsibilities
- Process and verify vendor invoices for Parts, Service, Sales, Office, and General Expense accounts.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
- Process vendor payments by check, ACH, and credit card while ensuring payment deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate vendor files, statements, and payment records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with month-end closing, including accruals, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions with the general ledger.
- Maintain organized digital and paper accounting records.
- Work closely with department managers to research and resolve invoice questions.
- Ensure compliance with dealership accounting policies and manufacturer requirements.
- Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
- Assist the Controller and accounting office with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or dealership accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working in an automotive dealership is highly preferred.
- Experience with Autosoft DMS and Dealertrack is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of dealership accounting procedures, including schedules, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end closing.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including debits, credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and dealership staff.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidential financial information.
