Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Subcontractor/Laborer (1099 subcontractor) to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting various construction projects by performing hands-on labor, assisting with site operations, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from remodeling and restoration to new builds, utilizing your skills across multiple trades and tools. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to successful project completion while gaining valuable experience in the construction industry. 40 hours per week (weather permitting).
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including material handling and organization
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and efficiently to support ongoing work
- Perform tasks such as framing, drywall installation, roofing, finishing, and tile laying as needed
- Support skilled tradespeople with plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, welding, and other specialized tasks
- Understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Conduct basic inspections of work areas for safety compliance and quality standards
- Assist with demolition, restoration, cabinet installation, and other finishing activities
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members
Skills
- Experience in construction management or estimating is advantageous
- Knowledge of construction inspection procedures and schematics reading
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of various trades including framing carpentry, drywall finishing, and plastering
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately (Not needed, but nice to have)
- Experience with concrete forming, caulking, trim carpentry, cabinet mounting, door hanging, painting preparation and application
- Familiarity with construction site safety practices and protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail
