Job Summary As a Junior Cook, you will assist the kitchen team in the preparation, cooking, and plating of various dim sum and related dishes. Through on-the-job training, you will learn and develop traditional dim sum-making skills while ensuring all food produced meets the company’s standards for quality, taste, and food safety. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & CookingAssist in the preparation and production of dim sum and other menu items. Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef or Senior Chefs. Handle ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and portioning. Support daily mise en place and replenishment of food supplies. Hygiene & SafetyEnsure all food items are stored and handled properly according to safety standards.Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene guidelines (e.g., HACCP standards).Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients. Teamwork & Training Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations.Be open to training and rotation across different dim sum preparation sections.Follow kitchen instructions and support team members when required.Job RequirementsAbility to communicate effectively with kitchen staff in Mandarin or English to understand instructions, coordinate food preparation, and maintain workplace safety.Preferably at least 1 year of experience in a Chinese kitchen.Basic knowledge of Chinese cuisine or a strong interest in learning dim sum preparation.Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices.Willing to take direction, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
