Lead Baker

Hours:
Morning/Day Shift - Full Time
shifts run - 7am-3pm 5 days per week with flexibility for some 6am-2pm or 5am-1pm

Tilly Bagel Shop Fulton Market is seeking a Lead Baker (morning)
 

We are passionate about making fresh, delicious bagels that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or any time of day. Our menu features a variety of bagels, sandwiches, spreads, and other pastries, all made with quality ingredients. 

We are committed to providing excellent customer service and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements:

• 2 year previous experience in baking/pastry/prep is required
• Experience in an overnight shift position preferred
• Responsible for boiling, baking, prepping bagels, baking proteins off for service
• Responsible for setting up catering orders 
• Be able to work independently
• Reliability 
• Be able to work well under pressure, multitask, and have excellent communication skills
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume environment and be able to meet the demands of a busy bagel shop
• Follow recipes and food safety guidelines, and have experience with food preparation equipment such as slicers and mixers
• Have passion about food and have a strong work ethic
• Work independently and as part of a team, and be willing to learn new skills 
• Stand for long periods of time and lift up to 75 pounds
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction
• High school diploma or equivalent
• ServSafe Certified 

Job Duties:
creating and mixing sourdough sponges
mixing batches, weighing out dough, rolling and shaping bagels
ensuring proper proofing of bagels
delegating tasks among team, leading team throughout shift
completing inventory / submitting orders
organizing and deep cleaning the space and equipment
streamlining effective kitchen procedures for best quality of product while ensuring efficiency
