What you will do:
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation, and ongoing administration of server infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments including a plant and office environment. This role ensures high system availability, robust security, and a stable operating environment.
Here’s a day in the life:
Hardware, Directory, Environment Administration
Administer and maintain corporate computing environments (Windows & Azure Active Directory)
Manage VMware compute environments
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
Maintain system performance and uptime
Oversee hardware and software installations
Automation & Operational Efficiency
Automate routine tasks and hybrid workloads using Windows native tools and PowerShell
Maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Azure CLI, IaC tools) for operational efficiency
Use automation tools for deployment and updates
Improve operational workflows and reduce manual processes
System Updates, Security & Compliance
Oversee OS updates, compliance, and troubleshooting
Apply Azure security tools (Defender, Key Vault, etc.) to enforce policy and harden systems
Evaluate and recommend updates/tools to improve reliability and performance
Apply security protocols and tools (antivirus, firewalls, etc.)
Ensure compliance with standards and policies
Monitor for threats and vulnerabilities
Infrastructure Projects, Data Integrity & Documentation
Support data integrity and system migrations
Participate in IT infrastructure upgrades and deployments
Assist in developing IT standards, recovery plans, and documentation
Support data backup and disaster recovery
Familiarity with ITIL / Agile methodologies
Maintain technical documentation and manuals
Troubleshooting, Support & Collaboration
Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of identified issues
Respond to after-hours IT issues (remote and on-site support)
Provide technical support and training to users
Build strong relationships with staff, leadership, and external partners
Collaborate with other IT and business teams
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
5 years supporting/managing IT infrastructure in multi-site, security-focused environments
Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, Group Policy, M365, and enterprise storage
PowerShell scripting and automation expertise
Experience with VMware virtualization
Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
Experience in PCI, SOX, or GAP compliant environments
Proficiency in Azure Active Directory and related Azure functions
Effective communicator with strong documentation/interpersonal skills
Preferred: Experience in manufacturing or production-oriented IT environments
Preferred: Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server)
Preferred: VMware VCF / VVF certification
Weekend/evening work and after-hours emergency response as needed
Physical requirements:
This position is primarily office-based, with the option to work remotely
Requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs
Occasional exposure to loud environments in production areas
