What you will do: The IT Business Solution Architect - Plant Operations leads the design and implementation of solution architectures for specific applications and is specifically supporting our Plant Operations at TCCA. This role ensures the utilization of appropriate tools and methods in accordance with established enterprise application architecture principles and roadmaps. This role is key to the Digital Transformation journey at TCCA, providing oversight to core functions within the initiative. In addition, the position requires strong collaboration with key stakeholders, product owners, functional engineers, and enterprise architects. The role requires a strong appreciation for understanding the needs of our customers, adopting the “Day in a life of” approach to appreciate how technology can make a difference. Here’s a day in the life: Design state-of-the-art solutions for digital manufacturing, understanding complex end-to-end business processes. Adopt industry standards and best practices, including the Software Development Life Cycle, and provide direction, training, and guidance to team members. Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, functional engineers, and enterprise architects to ensure solution alignment with business goals. Create functional, manageable, secure solution designs within an existing technology/product portfolio to enable business change. Lead E2E design, including detailed configuration, ensuring solutions align with business requirements and enterprise information consistency. Coordinate medium to large solution architecture implementations, ensuring documentation in the enterprise architecture repository. Engage with vendors for the evaluation, design, and delivery of business capabilities and software product standards selection. Champion technology policies, methodology, and standards across the manufacturing team. Rapidly develop real-time data solutions to address issues in a changing environment and Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing user interfaces within project scope. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field is preferred; technical training with significant related experience can be substituted for a degree. Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, development, and solution architecture. 7-10 years of experience developing PLC-controlled SCADA systems, preferably in a project-based industry. At least two years of experience developing PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA systems. Experience and Qualifications: Required: Solid experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), preferably with Aveva/Wonderware SCADA, MES, Archestra, Historian, OMI, Report for Operations, EI. Experience with Ignition is a plus. Experience with shop floor Manufacturing Control Systems: PLCs, HMI/SCADA, DCS, and systems integration. High-level programming experience with .NET, Java, Python, C, C++, SQL, etc. Proficiency in the Software Engineering & Development Lifecycle. Experience in building and maintaining document libraries and single-point learnings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective presentation abilities. Ability to communicate, collaborate, and negotiate effectively. Desirable: ITIL v3 Service Management knowledge/exposure. Preferred: Experience with Python, R, YAML, PowerShell and various scripting languages. Knowledge of Labvantage. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Supply Chain Experience with Savanna and ASRS Experience with cloud computing, model driven MES and Workflow Experience with Http forms and architecting screens. Experience managing/developing IT security for an enterprise.
