About the Role
Tillamook Family Counseling Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Telemedicine/Telepsychiatry and on‑site psychiatry services. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, supporting providers, and keeping healthcare operations running smoothly in a behavioral health setting.
You’ll play an important role in creating a positive experience for clients by helping with scheduling, documentation, and communication between clients and providers.
What You’ll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you will:
- Support client scheduling and appointment coordination
- Take and accurately record client vitals prior to appointments (including virtual visits via Zoom)
- Make daily reminder calls for upcoming appointments
- Assist clients with scheduling questions and concerns
- Serve as a key liaison between clients and providers, relaying questions, concerns, and updates
- Support providers with refill requests, lab results, and related communications via phone, fax, or email
- Maintain accurate documentation of client information and concerns in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription refill requests
- Contact clients to schedule appointments following referrals or missed visits
- Assist with urine analysis (UA) collection
- Monitor UA systems daily, upload results to client records, and notify clinical staff of any positive results or alerts
- Perform other related duties as needed to support the care team
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a medical or clinical setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EHR/EMR systems)
- Knowledge of or interest in behavioral health services

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

- Routine use of standard office equipment
- Occasional standing, walking, stair use, and light lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
Schedule & Employment Details
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Hours may vary and occasionally extend as needed to support client care
- This position does not supervise other employees
