Hours: Part time to full time, 19 to 40 hours per week.This classification is responsible for collecting and transporting park fees, documents, and supplies between park locations. Duties include retrieving and processing honor system envelopes, making deliveries to camp hosts, securing deposits, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The position also assists with visitor interactions, monitors compliance with Park regulations, and provides support for seasonal staff as needed.Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any combination of training, education and experience which provides the ability to adequately perform the duties of the position.
Certifications or Licenses
- At the time of the appointment, must possess a valid Oregon driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background investigation.
Duties assigned to this classification include, but are not limited to, the following examples.
- Collect fees at County Parks.
- Greet visitors and provide information regarding the Park system, local area, etc.
- Perform general office duties as assigned that are associated with registration of campers.
- Inspect camping sites routinely to ensure camper compliance.
- Collect and record cash and credit card payments and make deposits.
- Retrieve and process honor system envelopes from park sites.
- Make deliveries to camp hosts, collect paperwork, and secure deposits.
- Troubleshoot and clear errors on kiosks and reset change machines as needed.
- Ensure safe driving practices while representing County Parks and interacting with the public.
- Not a supervisory role but provides informal training/orientation to volunteers, or newly assigned personnel.
- Works under immediate supervision with assignments introduced by specific instructions. Routine work is spot-checked, and the supervisor is readily available for questions and guidance.
- Usually, normal concentration and deadlines with occasional periods of sustained deadline pressure.
- The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as tables, equipment, and medium-sized parts.
