Visitor Center – Ice Cream Scooper (Part-Time)

What you will do: 

The Ice Cream Scooper will provide fast, friendly service to guests in all ice cream areas of the Visitors’ Center.  They will be assigned to work as an Ice Cream Cashier, Ice Cream Dishwasher, Ice Cream Busser, and/or Ice Cream scooper.  They may rotate through the different positions as needed. The Ice Cream Scooper maintains Tillamook’s Shared Values, creating a world-class guest experience to the one million guests that visit annually, and supports in the Creamery’s daily operations.

Here’s a day in the life:

• Scoop and serve ice cream following portion and quality standards.
• Assist with retrieval of ice cream orders and stock ice cream in the freezer.
• Assist with defrosting the freezers and other general cleanup.
• Serve customers by taking orders on POS system.  Take customer payment, make change correctly and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Stock set-up areas behind counters daily and replenish supplies as needed.
• Clean all shelving and service areas behind counters daily.  Maintain high level of cleanliness and organization in the ice cream area at all times.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all ice cream flavors (and ingredients) to answer customer questions.
• Assist with retrieval of ice cream order from the plant and stocks ice cream in freezer.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
• Communicate effectively.
• Utilize a computer/POS System.
• Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• Follow written or verbal instruction.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Compute basic arithmetic.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Food service experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred
• Must obtain and provide a Food Handler’s Certification within 30 days of hire.

• Sitting
• Lifting 25 lbs.
• Vision for machine or computer operations
• Hearing
