What you will do:
The Corporate Communications Specialist - Internal is responsible for executing corporate communications plans and strategies. Specific focus includes implementation of annual corporate communications programs, development of corporate and consumer relations messaging. The position also supports all aspects of internal TCCA employee communications and events, working to creatively and efficiently deliver ongoing information using a wide variety of communication vehicles to reach all levels of employees at multiple facilities. It involves a close partnership with key departments, including Farm Services, Stewardship, Marketing, Executive Support and People & Culture. This position is based in our Portland office, but will involve travel to and time spent in our Tillamook and Boardman locations. .
Here’s a day in the life:
- Support execution of annual plans for communications with employees and members.
- Write content, develop layout and publish the employee newsletters, which currently includes Cheddar Chatter (monthly), Update (monthly) and Weekly Bulletin (weekly).
- Ensure all internal communications are successfully communicated to all departments and functions.
- Support coordination and execution for numerous employee events at all TCCA facilities throughout the year. Includes semi-annual CEO meetings, town halls, summer BBQs, employee appreciation events and employee family events, among others.
- Support coordination and execution of employee and member engagement activities throughout the year, including corporate giving campaigns, volunteerism opportunities and employee and member participation in locally sponsored events (fairs, parades, etc.).
- Provide cross-functional support to teams such as People & Culture, Farm Engagement and Stewardship to help promote and socialize their initiatives with internal audiences.
- Assist in activating marketing campaigns internally and keeping employees and members as a top priority for our brand.
- Produce written materials to support TCCA Members as needed.
- Participate in the coordination of the TCCA annual meeting.
- Work together with the design team to coordinate development of the TCCA Annual Report, helping to gather content and reviews from various stakeholders.
Skills you’ll need:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communication or related field.
Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations or similar field. Demonstrated experience with corporate or internal communications preferred.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication, including listening
- Thorough attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through
- Keen ability to creatively problem-solve
- Excellent time-management, the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously with moderate supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and develop rapport and credibility with diverse groups at all levels of the company and outside the company
- Overall comfort with computer systems is a must, specifically advanced skills in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
