Company Description
Originally founded as a Mahjong club in Rye, New York, Tiles for Hope has grown into an international nonprofit connecting students with seniors through intergenerational programs, cultural enrichment, and advocacy. We aim to reduce senior isolation, foster empathy, and give students a meaningful way to make a difference in their communities.
Role Description
As a Civic Engagement Director, you’ll lead initiatives that connect students with seniors and raise awareness about issues like loneliness and cognitive decline. You’ll coordinate volunteers, plan events, partner with local organizations, and help design advocacy campaigns. You can also contribute to our Gray Matters campaign by writing articles or content that highlights seniors’ experiences and challenges.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with seniors and building meaningful connections
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Comfortable collaborating with volunteers and community partners
- Interest in advocacy, civic engagement, or social impact projects
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and different communities
- Experience in community service or volunteering is a plus, but not required
