Core Responsibilities
- Comply with all environmental, health, safety and training policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, and haul trucks.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspection procedures.
- Communicate with and cooperate with truckers and customers as required.
- Perform equipment maintenance on a routine basis, i.e., lubrication, fueling and cleaning of loader.
- Wear a hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection and respirator as needed.
- May be called upon at the discretion of the supervisor to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist other departments if necessary.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required by manager.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent or 3 years of practical work experience.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner to maximize plant productivity.
- Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel.
- Ability to read English.
- Successful completion of MSHA Training after onboarding.
- Tolerate working at heights, in confined spaces, and on uneven surfaces.
- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated.
- Ability to service the assigned equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee must be able to remain stationary and move for periods of time. The employee will have to drive a vehicle. They will ascend/descend catwalks, ladders and scaffolding. Employees in this job will continuously use fine motor skills, repetitive motions, and move left and right. They may frequently have to reach, lower and move oneself to a low position or rise and move to a higher position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus. This position requires an employee to frequently lift up to 50lbs.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees are exposed to noise, moving equipment, dust, and are expected to work with others. Frequently, employees are exposed to hot weather, humid weather, cold weather, wet weather, and windy conditions. Occasionally, employees may be exposed to high heat.
