Position OverviewTigerByte Cyber is seeking a hands-on Finance & Operations Manager to oversee the company’s day-to-day financial, human resources, and administrative operations.
This is a highly visible role that works directly with the CEO and helps build the processes, systems, and controls required to scale the company. The ideal candidate has startup experience, takes ownership, and is comfortable creating structure where little or none currently exists.
This is not a narrowly defined corporate finance position. We need someone willing to roll up their sleeves, solve problems, and handle responsibilities ranging from bookkeeping and payroll to HR administration, financial reporting, and executive support.
ResponsibilitiesFinance and Accounting- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities in QuickBooks Online
- Maintain accurate financial records, account classifications, and supporting documentation
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, expense reporting, and collections
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, payroll, and balance-sheet reconciliations
- Support monthly and year-end financial close activities
- Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, management reports, and financial analyses
- Coordinate with the company’s external accountant, tax advisors, auditors, and other financial partners
- Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, approval processes, and documentation
- Monitor company spending and identify financial or operational risks
- Administer payroll, benefits, onboarding, and offboarding through Gusto
- Maintain accurate employee records and personnel documentation
- Coordinate recruiting administration, offer letters, background checks, and new-hire onboarding
- Manage employee benefits, paid time off, compensation changes, and payroll-related compliance
- Help create and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
- Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for employees on payroll, benefits, and HR matters
- Coordinate with external HR, benefits, insurance, and legal providers as needed
- Develop and document scalable business processes, policies, and operating procedures
- Manage corporate records, insurance policies, licenses, subscriptions, and vendor agreements
- Support contract administration, procurement, and vendor management
- Assist with board meeting preparation, reporting, scheduling, and recordkeeping
- Coordinate executive calendars, meetings, travel, and other administrative priorities as needed
- Improve the tools, systems, and workflows used across the company
- Take ownership of operational issues and drive them through resolution
- At least five years of experience in finance, accounting, business operations, or a related role
- Previous experience working in a startup or fast-growing small business
- Deep, hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online and Gusto
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and account reconciliation
- Experience administering employee benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and HR processes
- Demonstrated ability to build processes and systems from the ground up
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion when handling financial, personnel, and confidential company information
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take full ownership of responsibilities
- Able to work in our Hauppauge, New York office three days per week
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Experience supporting a venture-backed, government contracting, defense, cybersecurity, or technology company
- Familiarity with government contracting accounting or compliance requirements
- Experience preparing financial packages for executives, boards, investors, or lenders
- Experience supporting audits, tax preparation, insurance renewals, or compliance activities
Within the first three months, the Finance & Operations Manager will have established reliable financial reporting, organized the company’s bookkeeping and HR records, improved the accuracy and consistency of payroll and administrative processes, and created documented systems that can scale with the company.
