This role involves leading complex field examinations, analyzing collateral, and delivering actionable recommendations to clients and internal teams. The Senior Field Examiner will also help shape best practices for the division and serve as a mentor to junior examiners.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Field Examiner, you will:Manage complex field examinations of existing and prospective borrowers, either fully on-site or in a hybrid on-site/remote environment.Perform independent analysis of borrower collateral records, borrowing base certificates, and financial reports to assess collateral values, highlight weaknesses, and confirm compliance with loan documentation.Evaluate borrower systems and controls, including accounting systems, data integrity, managerial oversight, and reporting processes, identifying areas of potential exposure or deterioration.Prepare and deliver clear, comprehensive reports and supporting workpapers, presenting key findings, material variances, and recommendations that will be used by lenders, credit committees, and portfolio management.Communicate and escalate significant exam findings to internal and client stakeholders; conduct borrower meetings (including CFO, CEO, and Controller) and professional exit interviews.Collaborate with relationship managers, underwriters, appraisers, and credit officers to align exam findings with lending strategies.Oversee examination teams, managing due diligence processes, monitoring workflow, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to scope.Mentor and train junior examiners, reviewing their work and fostering professional development.Qualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate will bring:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA/MBA a plus).5 years of Asset-Based Lending field exam experience, with demonstrated ability to lead complex borrower examinations.Deep understanding of ABL collateral structures, loan documentation, and borrowing base compliance.Advanced accounting, collateral analysis, and risk assessment skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and borrower-facing interactions.Experience managing or mentoring junior examiners.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with AssetWriter, AssetReader, or similar collateral review software is a plus.Ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada.A proactive, professional approach with strong organizational and time management skillsBenefitsWe take pride in supporting our employees with:Competitive compensation and annual performance-based incentives.Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more).401(k) plan with company contributions.Flexible work schedules and hybrid opportunities.Professional development, mentorship, and training programs.A collaborative environment where your expertise is valued.
