Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Programmer/Setup to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, including Brother, Haas, & Southwest milling machines utilizing Mastercam as the programming software. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM software to produce high-quality components. Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam software for various machining operations.
- Set up CNC milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and workpieces are in place.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Operate CNC equipment such as Fanuc-controlled machines with precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers.
- Perform machine maintenance, calibration, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize machining processes.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot machine issues related to tooling, or mechanical problems.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols involving hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming (Mastercam) and setup for milling machines.
- Proficiency with general blueprint reading skills.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and mechanical concepts.
- Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC controllers (Brother, Haas, Southwest).
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, tooling setups.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
