Responsibilities

- Prepare and submit clean claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, adhering to payer guidelines and industry regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies to maximize revenue recovery.
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring all documentation aligns with coding standards and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve coding accuracy.
- Stay current with updates in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance policies to ensure compliance and optimize billing processes.
- Support the review of medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for billing and record management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately interpret clinical documentation.
- Experience working with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical record management.
- Knowledge of insurance claim submission processes, denials management, and collections procedures.
- Ability to interpret complex medical records and translate them into precise codes following industry standards.
