What You’ll Do
As a Dietary Cook, you will play an important role in making mealtimes enjoyable for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and special meals as assigned.
- Following recipes while maintaining appropriate portion sizes, presentation, taste, and consistency.
- Preparing modified and therapeutic diets according to resident needs and facility guidelines.
- Paying close attention to special diets, allergies, food preferences, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensuring food is prepared, cooked, stored, and served at proper temperatures.
- Keeping the kitchen, cooking equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Following all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with inventory, food preparation, and kitchen organization.
- Working closely with the Dietary Manager and dietary team to ensure meals are served on time.
- Helping create a positive dining experience for our residents.
- Treating residents with kindness, dignity, patience, and respect.
What We’re Looking For

- Enjoys cooking and takes pride in serving quality food.
- Has a positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Is dependable, punctual, and takes responsibility for their work.
- Can follow recipes, menus, instructions, and dietary requirements.
- Can work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Pays attention to cleanliness, food safety, and detail.
- Is comfortable working with residents and understands the importance of compassionate service.
- Is willing to learn and grow within the dietary department.
- Previous healthcare, long-term care, institutional, or commercial cooking experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
