We’re seeking a friendly, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Surgery Scheduler / Front Desk Receptionist.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This dual-role position plays a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations—both at the front desk and in coordinating surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Surgery Scheduling
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for patients with hospitals and surgical centers
- Obtain pre-authorizations and verify insurance coverage
- Communicate pre- and post-operative instructions to patients
- Ensure all pre-surgical testing and documentation are completed
- Serve as a liaison between providers, patients, and surgical facilities
- Complete paperwork such as FMLA forms, etc
Front Desk / Reception
- Greet patients and provide a warm, professional first impression
- Check patients in and out and collect co-pays or balances
- Manage phone calls, messages, and appointment scheduling
- Verify insurance and update patient demographics in the EMR
- Support daily office flow, including scanning, filing, and other administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office is preferred
- Experience with OBGYN or surgical scheduling preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday (Full-time)
