Tierney Education LLC is dedicated to enhancing student learning and academic success. We pair motivated tutors with students who need support, creating meaningful one-on-one and small group learning experiences.

Role Overview

We're looking for dedicated and enthusiastic peer tutors for the upcoming semester. As a tutor, you'll play a hands-on role in helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

We have immediate needs for tutors in economics, business, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Meet one-on-one or in small groups with students for tutoring sessions
• Communicate directly with students to schedule meeting times and locations
• Submit monthly hours at the end of each month
• Submit session reflections within 24 hours of each session using our provided form
• Maintain frequent communication with the Tierney Education team regarding student progress

Qualifications

• Achieved an A or A− in the course(s) you wish to tutor
• Minimum 5 hours of availability per week
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with students
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Responsive communication with Tierney Education administration via text and/or email

Preferred

• Prior experience in tutoring or peer mentoring
• Knowledge of research-based teaching methodologies
• Ability to conduct sessions virtually

Compensation & Training

• Starting at $30 per hour-long tutoring session
• All tutors complete a paid, 90-minute learning science training
• Comprehensive tutoring handbook provided
