Position Overview
The Manager of IT Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the design, stability, security, and scalability of the company’s IT infrastructure and architecture. This role leads a small, highly capable team and works in close partnership with third party service providers to deliver reliable, secure, and business aligned IT services.
As the company continues to grow through mergers and acquisitions, this role is critical in integrating newly acquired companies into the enterprise IT and security platform while balancing speed, risk, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure Leadership
- Lead and mentor a small internal team responsible for IT architecture, infrastructure, and operational support.
- Own the reliability, availability, and performance of core IT systems, including LAN/WAN networking, cloud infrastructure, and identity platforms.
- Establish and enforce operational standards, documentation, and best practices across the IT environment.
Security & Risk Management
- Ensure all operating companies meet baseline IT security requirements and controls.
- Lead the integration of acquired companies onto the corporate security platform, including:
o Active Directory / Entra ID
o Duo MFA
o Arctic Wolf managed detection and response
o Endpoint protection, patching, and email security
- Partner with security vendors and internal stakeholders to remediate gaps and manage risk exposure.
M&A Integration
- Serve as a key IT leader during M&A activities, including diligence, onboarding, and post close integration.
- Assess inherited IT environments and define integration or exception plans based on business requirements.
- Execute integrations efficiently while minimizing disruption to acquired company operations.
Cloud, Network, and Identity Platforms
- Oversee enterprise LAN/WAN networking, firewall architecture, and connectivity between locations.
- Lead Azure cloud infrastructure strategy, operations, and optimization.
- Own identity and access management, including Active Directory, group policy, MFA, and role based access controls.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage strategic relationships with third party IT and security providers as true business partners.
- Drive accountability against SLAs, KPIs, and deliverables.
- Coordinate vendor resources to ensure outcomes, not just activity.
Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement in IT operations, security posture, and service delivery.
- Track and report on operational metrics, risks, and remediation plans.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Application teams to align IT services with business needs.

Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience leading IT infrastructure and operations teams.
- Strong background in enterprise networking, cloud platforms (Azure), and identity management.
- Demonstrated success working with and managing third party IT vendors.
- Experience integrating acquired companies or operating in an M&A driven environment.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and operational security controls.
- Strong leadership, communication, and execution skills with a results oriented mindset.
Preferred
- Experience in private equity backed or high growth organizations.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft first environments and security tooling.
- Ability to balance standardization with business specific needs during integrations.
