Duties
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, flagging equipment, and signage in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations to ensure safety in work zones
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around active construction sites, road repairs, and highway maintenance areas
- Conduct inspections of work zones to ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper functioning of traffic control measures
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and the use of hand tools for setting up or adjusting traffic control devices
- Support construction teams by providing outdoor work assistance on civil infrastructure projects involving road construction, highway maintenance, or utility installation
Experience
- Previous experience working on construction sites or in a civil infrastructure role is highly preferred
- Familiarity with traffic control for work zones and adherence to safety protocols is essential
- Construction or road maintenance traffic control experience involving projects will set candidates apart
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including manual handling and heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
