Position Overview
The company is seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support ongoing hard-bid commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on exposure across all phases of construction and a clear pathway to future project management responsibilities.
This position requires proven experience with hard-bid projects and offers direct mentorship from senior field and project leadership.
Project & Company Highlights

- Day-to-day involvement in preconstruction, field coordination, and project delivery
- Projects primarily within a 2–3 hour radius of the metro area
- Occasional overnight travel (approximately once per month)
Key Responsibilities
- Support preconstruction tasks, estimating efforts, and subcontractor coordination
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, and documentation
- Assist with cost tracking, change orders, and project financial updates
- Participate in jobsite meetings and collaborate with field teams
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Contribute to quality control, safety processes, and project closeout
- Build technical and leadership skills to progress into PM-level responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- OR construction program certification 2 years of experience
- OR 3 years of construction experience
- Demonstrated experience completing at least one hard-bid project
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
- Interest in long-term professional growth within a GC environment
- Ability to travel regionally for day trips and limited overnight stays
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $75,000–$90,000 depending on experience
