About the Role
As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator to join their team in Palm City, Florida. This individual will play a critical role in securing future work by preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for large-scale commercial and industrial electrical projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complete electrical estimates for commercial and industrial projects ranging from $1M to $10M in electrical scope
- Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost estimates
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Utilize ConEst Estimating Software to prepare detailed estimates and bid proposals
- Solicit and evaluate competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarify scope discrepancies during the bidding process
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing strategies
- Participate in post-bid negotiations and scope review meetings
- Provide value engineering recommendations to improve project competitiveness and profitability
- Create and manage change order pricing throughout project execution
- Maintain organized bid files and historical cost data
- Collaborate closely with project managers, operations teams, vendors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience
- Experience estimating commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, municipal, government, or aviation projects preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Proficiency with ConEst Estimating Software preferred
- Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of electrical construction methods, labor units, material pricing, and industry standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
