Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Tiegerman Elementary School is looking for a BCBA to join our education team!
Tiegerman is a 12 month program
Under the supervision of the Building Principal, the BCBA is responsible for the development and monitoring of FBA/BIPS, observation and consultation in classrooms for students presenting with behavioral difficulties, monitoring classroom management plans, participation in support team meetings, and the development and implementation of individualized programs to students, if needed. The BCBA is an exempt position. Board Certification (BCBA) and or Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Monitor classroom management plans through observation and consultation with staff
- Ensure consistent implementation of classroom management plans
- Observe and consult with staff regarding individual students presenting with behavioral difficulties
- Model behavioral interventions
- Provide staff training on data collection and appropriate implementation of behavioral strategies (and individual programs, as needed)
- Develop programs for students utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, as needed
- Provide direct individualized instruction to students utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, as needed
- Maintain all behavioral data related to individuals requiring Behavior Intervention Plans
- Participate in staff meetings
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, ensuring that all Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Support Plans are completed in accordance to students’ Individualized Education Plans
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and protected information in accordance with FERPA standards
- Provide crisis behavior interventions by guiding staff in the de-escalation of unsafe and disruptive behaviors.
- Demonstrates commitment to departmental and organizational goals.
