Purchasing Specialist

Tiegerman is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our facilities department.

In this vital role, you will drive the sourcing and purchasing processes that keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will ensure optimal inventory levels, cost-effective procurement, and strong supplier relationships. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Accurately enter, review, maintain, and submit purchase orders based on demand, inventory replenishment requirements, and management directives
• Ensure a high level of accuracy when creating and verifying purchase order details, including pricing, quantities, shipping instructions, and supplier information
• Communicate professionally and effectively with suppliers regarding order processing, acknowledgments, delivery schedules, and issue resolution
• Communicate professionally and courteously directly with suppliers in relation to order processing as required to resolve issues and receive order acknowledgements
• File all order documents and electronically attach to appropriate system locations per document management systems
• Research, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors
• Obtain and compare price quotations and proposals
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms
• Maintain supplier price lists
• Maintain stock levels of supplies
• Create, process, and track purchase orders
• Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
• Ensure timely delivery of purchased goods and services
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing
• Collaborate with the business office, maintenance department, and program teams
• Analyze purchasing data and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or administration

Experience

• Proven experience in procurement management
• Demonstrated ability in sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and vendor management
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, logistics, and contract management
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with a strategic mindset for cost savings and supplier partnerships
• Prior experience working within a fast-paced environment that demands attention to detail and proactive problem-solving
