Role Description The Assistant Professional Organizer is a part-time position serving Annapolis and surrounding counties. In this role, the assistant supports lead organizers during client sessions by helping sort, declutter, and organize spaces such as kitchens, closets, garages, home offices, and whole homes. Daily tasks also include responsibly handling donations and assisting with move-related projects such as packing, unpacking, and home setup. This position involves direct client interaction, careful attention to detail, and maintaining a respectful, non-judgmental, and confidential environment in every home.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and space-planning abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and work compassionately with clients, including those who are stressed or overwhelmed.
- Ability to follow established processes, take direction from lead organizers, and work efficiently both independently and as part of a small on-site team.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of clients with ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence; willingness to learn and adapt organizing solutions accordingly.
- Comfort with physical work, including lifting, carrying, and moving household items; ability to stand and move for extended periods during organizing sessions.
- Reliable transportation to client homes in and around Annapolis, MD and the greater Annapolis region; consistent punctuality and professional appearance.
- Prior experience in professional organizing, residential moves, personal assistance, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic digital skills for scheduling, communication.
