Tidewater Inn seeks a talented and driven Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Hunter’s Tavern one of Maryland’s most beloved dining destinations, nestled in the heart of historic Easton. Scope of Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing line operations, staff supervision, preparation, and daily food production to ensure consistent quality and efficiency
- Represent the Executive Chef in their absence, providing confident leadership and maintaining kitchen standards across all service periods
- Lead the preparation and flawless execution of all banquets and special events, including holiday menus developed in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Monitor daily production and enforce portion controls, food cost management, and creative plating standards to meet guest expectations and financial goals
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment by developing and enforcing cleaning procedures, checklists, and proper food handling techniques
- Attend all BEO and Food & Beverage meetings; assist in preparing supply and food item requisitions and contribute to banquet menu development
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review service expectations, communicate priorities, and foster team motivation and accountability
- Identify, develop, and mentor a Lead Line Cook, supporting their growth in closing duties and operational responsibility
- Ensure all team members are properly trained and equipped with the tools and knowledge to perform daily tasks effectively and safely

Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
