TRUCK DRIVER
Description/Job Summary
Tidewater Energy delivers LP Gas to commercial, agriculture, and residential customers. This is a full-time CDL "B" truck driver position in North Carolina with delivery locations throughout Eastern NC.
Position Accountabilities
- Safely and efficiently load LP gas onto transport vehicle
- Safely and efficiently transport and deliver LP gas to commercial, agriculture, and residential customers in accordance to local, state, and federal regulations along with company procedures
- Perform daily vehicle inspections in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations, ensuring mechanical safety
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of all delivers made
- Communicate as needed with dispatcher and supervisor
- Comply with all federal, state, and local DOT ordinances
- Follow all safety protocols, ensuring hazardous product is handled properly
- Immediately report vehicle or equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisor
- Complete and maintain daily paperwork such as manifests, deliveries for invoicing, etc. to accurately account for time worked
- Ability to learn and comply with DOT, OSHA, FDA NFPA and other government regulations dealing with, handling and delivery of Liquified Propane
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Experience and Skills
- 21 years of age
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic math and reading skills
- Clean driving record
- Medical examiners certificate
- Available for on-call assignments during nights, weekends and holidays
- CDL Class B license with HazMat and tanker Endorsement
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 1–2-year experience as a delivery driver, gas industry experience a plus
