What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Advisor position at Tidepool Wealth Strategies?
Company Description
Tidepool Wealth Strategies is a fee-based fiduciary advisory firm based in Eugene, Oregon, serving professionals in their 50s and 60s who are approaching or recently entering retirement. The firm specializes in retirement income planning, tax strategy, Social Security guidance, risk management, and estate planning coordination. Tidepool also serves as a fiduciary advisor on employer-sponsored retirement plans, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans. Clients include responsible savers, small business owners, and independent contractors who want a clear, personalized plan, not a cookie-cutter solution.
Role Description
We're looking for an Advisor Associate to grow into a full client-facing advisory role over time. This isn't a back-office position, and it isn't a stepping stone to somewhere else. We're building something here, and we want someone who wants to build it with us.
In this role, you'll support client relationships, help prepare for and participate in client meetings, assist with retirement income and tax planning work using our planning software, and take on increasing responsibility as your skills and licensing develop. You'll work directly alongside the firm's lead advisor, learning a structured, process-driven approach to retirement planning built specifically for clients navigating one of the biggest transitions of their lives. Have an expectation of learning the ropes for at least 6 months before any client-facing activity (depending on experience).
If you're a natural relationship-builder who is also analytically curious, and you want to do work that genuinely matters to people, read on.
Qualifications
Required:
→ Strong written and verbal communication skills
→ Willingness to obtain required securities and insurance licensing (sponsorship available for the right candidate)
Preferred, not required:
→ Series 6, 7, 65, or 66 license already active
→ Life and Health insurance license already active
→ Background in a relationship-driven field (healthcare, education, hospitality, social work, ministry, coaching, or similar)
→ Comfortable working with client management or scheduling software (think Salesforce, Epic, Mindbody, or similar tools used in service-oriented roles)
→ Four-year degree in any field
What we're actually looking for:
→ Someone who listens more than they talk
→ Someone who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do next
→ Someone who wants a career, not a job
Financial services experience is not a prerequisite. Character, curiosity, and commitment are.
Experience in a client-facing role in financial services is preferred, but not required. Experience in service-oriented roles is favored.
