Description
Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate. Under direct supervision, the qualified candidate will perform a variety of yard activities including, operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in the location and loading of product
- Review materials loaded against invoice or requisition; complete and route paperwork appropriately
- Move product/material throughout the yard ensuring placement in correct areas
- Ensure product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times
- Perform routine clean-up of yard
- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers at all times
- All other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Six (6) months of experience with performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- OSHA Forklift Certification (training is provided) and experience building frame packs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of various types of lumber
- Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location
- Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions
