Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Team Leader to oversee and guide skilled team members in the production of our world-class yachts. This individual will ensure that quality standards, production goals, and safety guidelines are met while fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an eye for quality, and a commitment to driving operational excellence.

 

Job Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Supervise, motivate, and support team members in achieving daily and weekly production goals.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and management to address issues promptly.
  • Promote an upbeat, positive attitude and a culture of continuous improvement.

Production Oversight and Process Improvement:

  • Ensure all work aligns with production plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflows, allocate resources, and address bottlenecks to maintain schedules.
  • Respond quickly to work stoppages, struggles, or and on signals to minimize downtime.
  • Lead daily kaizen activities to identify and implement process improvements.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure craftsmanship aligns with our commitment to luxury and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to address defects and refine processes.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, report incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to company safety guidelines.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate production records, including labor tracking and daily reports.
  • Use visual management tools (e.g., standardized work, charts, A3s) to support team performance.
  • Provide insights and suggestions to management on resource needs, process improvements, and team performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be successful in this role, the Team Leader should demonstrate the following:

    • Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines in manufacturing.
    • Familiarity with tools such as visual management systems, kaizen tools, and standardized work processes.

    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities under pressure.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Clear and effective communication with team members, peers, and management.
    • Ability to deliver constructive feedback.

    • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles such as lean manufacturing and the Toyota Production System (TPS).
    • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to meet production goals.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Ability to build strong working relationships, foster collaboration, and maintain morale.
    • Empathy and concern for team members’ professional development and well-being.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Effective time management and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and following production plans.
  • Adaptability:
    • Flexibility to respond to changing demands, schedules, and challenges.
    • A proactive mindset to anticipate and resolve potential issues.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a relevant field; leadership experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and math skills; ability to read and understand units of measure.
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

General Requirements

  • Pass a background check, drug test, and physical examination.
  • Willingness to work overtime and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Follow all manufacturing instructions, safety policies, and PPE guidelines.
  • Fluency in English and commitment to upholding company values.
