Tiara Yachts - Manufacturing Manager
725 East 40th Street, Holland, MI. 49423
About Tiara Yachts
Tiara Yachts is a premier manufacturer of luxury yachts, recognized for exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and performance. For over 50 years, we have built a reputation for delivering world-class vessels that blend design, engineering, and quality without compromise.
As a family-owned company, we are committed to long-term excellence—investing in our people, our processes, and the future of our operations.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Manufacturing Manager who can operate as both a builder and a leader of execution.
This is not a role where systems are fully defined and simply need to be maintained. Instead, this leader will play a critical role in creating stability within a complex, high-mix manufacturing environment by:
- Establishing clear standards, structure, and accountability
- Building repeatable processes in areas with variability
- Developing team capability to execute consistently at a high level
You will be responsible for building the foundation and then leading the team to perform against it every day.
What Success Looks Like (First 12–18 Months)
- Greater production stability with reduced variability in output
- Clearly defined and adopted standard work, work instructions, and quality expectations
- Improved schedule adherence and production flow
- Increased workforce capability through training and cross-training systems
- Measurable improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency
- A culture of accountability where expectations are clear and consistently met
Key Responsibilities
Build the System (Builder Mindset)
- Establish and implement standard work, visual management, and clear production expectations
- Develop structured workflows that improve predictability in a high-variability environment
- Partner with engineering to improve product definition, work instructions, and manufacturability
- Identify gaps in processes, staffing, or materials and implement sustainable solutions
- Introduce and reinforce disciplined daily management systems (tier meetings, metrics, accountability)
Execute & Sustain (Operator Mindset)
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and delivery targets
- Ensure adherence to established standards and drive consistency across teams
- Monitor performance and take action quickly to address gaps
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production team members
- Build team capability through training, cross-training, and skill development systems
- Create clarity for the workforce through defined expectations and feedback
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Quality & Craftsmanship
- Uphold Tiara Yachts’ standards of craftsmanship through disciplined execution
- Drive root cause problem-solving and corrective actions
- Ensure quality is built into the process—not inspected at the end
Safety Leadership
- Champion a proactive safety culture
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and reinforce safe behaviors
Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure material readiness and schedule alignment
- Balance production priorities in a dynamic, custom-build environment
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Track and improve key metrics across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that create lasting impact—not temporary fixes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing
- Experience in high-mix / low-volume or custom production environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build systems, not just operate within them
- Experience implementing standard work, training systems, or process improvements
- Strong problem-solving skills (Lean, root cause analysis, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead teams through change and increasing levels of accountability
- Comfortable being hands-on in a fast-paced production environment
Why Tiara Yachts
- Be part of a company where quality and craftsmanship truly matter
- Opportunity to build and shape manufacturing systems, not just manage them
- Work in a stable, family-owned business with long-term vision
- Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives
- Comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth
