Scope of Work
Electrical Operations & Troubleshooting
- Connect finished lantern wiring and operate power plugs for pre-installed lantern groups.
- Manage temporary power loads to prevent tripping, troubleshoot open/short circuits, and perform on-site malfunction repairs.
- Keep displays running properly. This role focuses strictly on temporary festival lantern setups — no modification to the building's permanent panels or fixed wiring.
- Power-on timing: Lanterns may only be turned on after the venue has been cleared of daytime visitors. This typically occurs around 5:30PM.
- Power-off timing: Lanterns must be turned off only after venue staff confirm no visitors remain on site. This typically occurs around 9:45PM-10:00 PM.
- Check all lanterns and fix minor damages after closing if needed.
Safety & Structural Inspections
- Conduct routine pre-show checks on lantern displays for structural stability.
- Inspect wind-bracing integrity — especially important given Omaha's weather.
On-Site Maintenance & Venue Collaboration
- Perform hands-on physical repairs on lantern sets as needed, including non-electrical tasks such as reshaping/realigning minor deformed lantern frames and re-gluing or re-securing loose fabric coverings torn or detached by wind.
- Patrol the grounds during show hours, log issues, and report to the onsite coordinator.
- Actively cooperate with and execute all operational, safety, and site-specific work requirements issued by the venue.
