Createworkorderpackagesforfieldcrewsbaseontheinspection QCworkorderpackagespriortothembeingclosed QCrepairsmadeinthe Maintainbridgeandworkorderfilesandspread Monitorbridgeandworkordertimeframestoassuretheyarecompletedwithintheallowedtime Dealwithanyquestionsfromwithinoroutsiderelatedtoinspections,workordersorspecial Advisemanagementonallongoing Otherdutiesas maybe Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Abilitytodescribethecurrentoverallconditionandconditiontrendsforbridges SkilledinidentifyingtherecentNationalBridgeInspectionStandards(NBIS)revisions AbilitytoaccuratelycodeNationalBridgeInventory(NBI)items Abilitytoidentifyanddocumentinspectionobservationsusingstandardmethods Knowledgeofevaluatingdefectsbasedonthe2008AASHTOManualforBridgeEvaluation KnowledgeofcodingNBIcomponentsusingtheRecordingandCodingGuidefortheStructureInventory and Appraisal of the Nation's Bridges Abilitytodetermineifoverallstructure/structuralmemberisfracturecriticalprone Abilitytoaccuratelyinspectandevaluateabridge'sfourtrafficsafetyfeatures Abilitytolistthekeystoensuringasafeworkenvironment Skilledinexplainingbridgeresponsesandbridgemechanicprinciples Education and Experience HighSchoolDiplomaorGED Validdriver'slicenseandacceptabledrivingrecord(Required)todriveacompany InspectorsworkingfortheFloridaDepartmentofTransportation(FDOT)arerequiredtobeState-licensed professional engineers or certified bridge inspectors who have completed the National Highway Institute course in bridge inspection and meet FDOT's experience requirements. Minimumtwoyears'bridgeinspectionexperience ExperienceonFDOTprojectspreferred Work Conditions/Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
