What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Systems Manager position at TI Fluid Systems?
Responsibilities of Position:
- Ensure policies, programs, plans, practices, procedures are carried out consistently and accurately. Establish audit program to verify compliance and accuracy.
- Analyzes production limitations and problems to drive root cause and eliminate recurrences. Evaluates and recommends changes in methods, sampling techniques and control procedures and process
- Establish and meet plant and corporate objectives while following plant and corporate quality management system, including PPAP completion to customers to meet program timing and support AQP activities from start to end of life
- Lead maintain the quality management system to ensure IATF compliance and lead any nonconformities as part of problem solving to closure in a timely manner
- Lead and approve closure of problem solving for any quality issues (complain management) using many tools and methods according to internal, industry and/or customer requirements
- Reviews and organizes statistical data on quality of production by line, shift, and department to produce recommendations.
- Reviews and implement specification revisions following company procedures and ensure timely implementation
- Formulates or assists in formulating quality standards, policies, programs, plans, procedures and practices.
- Continuously reviews the economics of the quality program and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct.
- Ensures adequate and continuous control procedures are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with internal and external customers who broadly include suppliers and stakeholders.
- Maintains professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Communicates with customers and helps ensure customer satisfaction. Interface with customers and various levels of internal management
- Support and drive quality mindset for safety critical compliance
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Professional accreditation as a quality engineer by an appropriate authority or willingness to attain or equivalent training/certification
- Excellent computer and communication skills and analysis of data (statistics)
- Self-directed with a high degree of self-motivation with ability to make quick decisions
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and ability to read prints and symbols
- Ability and experience using measurement devices for parts and functional testing (leak testing a plus) and warranty experience
- Working familiarity of automotive OEM quality systems including IATF requirements and/or certified auditor
Experience Requirements:
- A combination of education and manufacturing experience.
- Customer portal use for Stellantis/Ford and prepare/read/revise PFMEA/Control Plans/Instructions and visual aids
- Working in high pace environment and able to analyze data for proper decisions
- Manage quality professionals, lab technicians and auditors covering multiple shifts
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Training on IATF and Core Tools (AIAG)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
May be required to travel to plant and/or customer sites.
Ability to travel by air travel and automobile for extended periods
Ability to run equipment (production/laboratory)
Working Conditions:
Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
Works within an automotive components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or engineering technology or a combination of education and manufacturing experience.
