Position Summary
Service and repair all injection molding machines and/or all automatic, semi-automatic and manual assembly machines including preventative maintenance and tool changeovers.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance duties including repairs and tooling changeovers
- Troubleshoot all machine electrical, pneumatic or leak tester issues
- Know and follow plant safety rules
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Supportive of the manufacturing operation and part/product changeovers in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Support minor facility repair projects, lighting lamp replacements and office/safety projects as directed
- Close out Work-Orders within same shift they are completed
- Generate shift reports regarding machine performance, operational issues, or tooling concerns for general distribution to entirety of Maintenance Group and Management staff
- Coordinate communications if engineering staff needs to be brought in for issue resolution.
- Be primary point of contact with shift supervisors to ensure part production is maintained during machine issues or changes in production schedules as they develop.
- Ensure non-production tasks are completed on time per task or project lists (PMs)
- Engage in the creation and support of maintenance service instructions and troubleshooting guides, and other departmental support documentation.
- Be designated trainer for new hires in maintenance department.

Education and Experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent experience
- Post high school training preferred
- Associate degree preferred in a technical field (e.g. Electronics technology or industrial automation) or trade school certificate
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Production Machine Maintenance to be preferred
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements
- MiOSHA Industrial Powered Truck License
- MiOSHA Overhead Crane License
- MiOSHA Powered Lift Operation License
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, repeated bending, reaching, climbing stairs
- Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Pushing or pulling up to 200 lbs
- Use of hands and legs
- Speak clearly, oral communication
- Ability for rapid manual/muscular coordination simultaneously involving wrist/hands/fingers
- Vision: depth perception and distinguish basic colors
- Operation of truck or motor vehicle without restrictions
Working Conditions
- Works inside within an automotive components manufacturing office setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
- Noise: constant above 85dcb with vibration
- Working with machinery with moving parts
- Occasionally work with chemicals, grease and oils, moving vehicles, alone, hands in water, and more than 40 hours (41- 60 hours)
